this video got me….

This morning, as I was checking facebook, I noticed this video that had gone viral. I clicked on it, not knowing what to expect, and it sucked me in. Something about this video struck me hard, and before I know it I’m crying, almost sobbing as I watch it. I can not relate to the things they talk about in this video – I live in a safe neighborhood and I don’t have to worry about rebel army’s walking down my street. But, maybe since I am now a mom, the thought of someone capturing my baby in the the middle of the night, forcing them into an army of violence and darkness, having them hurt other people; including their own family members, being made into sex slaves… it’s awful to think about.  My stepson is 7, there are African boys his age being forced to do these things…. it’s unimaginable.  Joseph Kony is the man in charge of these horrible acts – He needs to be stopped.

If, after watching the video, you are also compelled to take action this is what you can do….

1. Sign the Pledge.
2. Donate.
3. Order your Take Action Kit.
4. Find a group to join and take part in Cover the Night on April 20th. If you can’t find a group, start one.
5. Share the video with your friends.
6. Pray for these kids. Pray for Peace. Pray to help bring Kony to Justice in 2012.

The Joy of Love {Day 5, 6, & 7}

Day 5 was to capture something of your loved one that you {Love to Hate}.  Well, I captured my husbands ratty house shoes that he wears All.The.Time!  I think I’m still traumatized by house shoes because at my 7th grade band concert my dad wore his house shoes up to my SCHOOL.  I thought that was the most embarrassing thing back then, haha!

The theme for Day 6 was {Who they Love}.  I captured this moment of Riley trying to give her big brother kisses! Holland is not too into the slobbery kisses, but Riley loooooooves giving her big brother the slobbery ones!  You can really tell she loves him.  Every time he talks to her or holds her, you can tell she thinks he’s the coolest thing ever….so sweet!

Day 7 was {Generations}.  I love this one!  I snapped this photo of Brett with his mini me in front of him.  These two are buddies, Father and Son and life-long friends!

Hope you Enjoy the Photos!
